Adamu Mu’azu today, May 20, 2015, resigned his position as the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

His resignation has been confirmed by PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Abdullahi Jalo and is expected to take effect immediately.

Breaking: Muazu Resigns As PDP Chairman


The crisis rocking the PDP took a turn for the worst as the national chairman of the party, Adamu Mu’azu has resigned as the national chairman.

His resignation took effect immediately.

Also , it was reliably gathered that President Goodluck Jonathan has asked the chairman of PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), Chief Anthony Anenih to resign his office as the BOT chairman. But it is not  known whether Anenih has accepted to resign or not.

Court nullifies Benue Rep-elect’s certificate of return, orders prosecution

Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to nullify the certificate of return issued to Christian Abah  for the Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal ‎Constituency seat in the House of Representatives‎ of the forthcoming 8th National Assembly.

Justice Adeniyi Ademola, delivering judgment in the suit challenging Abah’s eligibility to stand for the election, held that the allegation of certificate forgery levelled against him, by the plaintiff, Mr. Hassan Saleh, was established to be true.

Airport cleaner who returned N12m needs better job from govt

Bamidele Defects to APC, Praises Buhari , Tinubu For their Sacrifices


The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Legislative Budget and Research and former Labour Party Chieftain, Hon Opeyem Bamidele, on Monday defected with his teeming party supporters to All Progressives Congress, saying he is not returning to the party to flex muscle with its leaders.

At a press conference in his Iyin Ekiti countryhome heralding the return of the LP members to the party, Bamidele said they took the step in a bid to rescue the party from the brink of collapse occasioned by the defeat it suffered to Governor Ayodele Fayose during the June 21 Governorship poll.

SHOKING: Lagos Lawyer Threaten To Sue Buhari For Dropping ‘General’ Title

The president-elect announced he would be dropping the ‘General’ title from his name come May 29th, a Lagos-based lawyer and rights activist, Mr. Ebun Adegboruwa, is threatening to sue him,arguing that it is illegal and immoral.

“I shall file a suit before the Federal High Court or alternatively, to give up, pay back and restore, all the pensions, salaries and benefits that he has so far earned, either as a commissioned officer of the Nigerian Army, or as a former military Head of State.”

The letter reads:
I have read the press statement of the President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (Retd.), indicating that as from May 29, 2015, he would like to be addressed simply as Muhammadu Buhari, without reflecting his official designation as a retired officer in the Nigerian Army.

Late hotel worker, Edeh, buried in Enugu

THE remains of the late Chibuike Edeh, a worker with Protea Hotel, Benin, who was reported to have died few days after he was arrested by the police for allegedly stealing N48,000 from a hotel guest, have been buried.

A brother to the deceased, Chibuzo, told Southern City News on Tuesday the late Edeh was buried on Sunday at his hometown in Nomeh, Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State.

A computer science and information technology graduate from a university in Cotonou, Anidi Reginald, has landed in police net for car snatching in Enugu.

Anidi, 27 years old, is said to have graduated from the university in 2013.

Niger lawmakers get N17m each, stop gov’s removal

The impeachment plot against the Niger State Governor, Aliyu Babangida, may have been stalled as the members of the state House of Assembly pushing for the governor’s removal have been paid N17m each.

A source gathered that the lawmakers after receiving the N17m each were also promised by the state government that their other demands would soon be met.
