I don’t see politics as a career. It is those who see it as a career that usually run into problems -Moji Lawal

Does it feel like a dream that you would become a member of the house of assembly in Lagos State come May 29?

No, it doesn’t feel like a dream. But then, I wouldn’t say I was sure I was going to win in the last election; it was actually a 50/50 thing. I knew I had done all I should do. I had spoken to the people and I had reached out to them long before I even decided to contest. I knew the results could go either way. I started with the mindset that whichever way it went, I would have something to fall back on. My major aim has always been to promote my community and take care of my people. If I hadn’t gone into politics or if I hadn’t won, I still would have done something to promote my community. I don’t see politics as a career. It is those who see it as a career that usually run into problems.

Dear OOB Readers. Why do we get sleep in our eyes?

Our eyes fill up with gunk as we sleep, but what is it? As one of OOB reader discovers, the stuff has a more important job than it seems.

The first thing I do when I wake up each morning is look at the long list of notifications that have silently accumulated on my phone as I slept. The second thing I do is wipe away the gunk that silently accumulated in the corner of my eyes over the course of the night. No matter what you call it – sleep, sand, eye boogers – you know the stuff I'm talking about. I've always wondered what it was made of and why it forms, so I went and found out.

FAYOSE: TIME TO END EKITI NIGHTMARE - Jide Oluwajuyitan

Obasanjo and Jonathan, his estranged god son have nothing but contempt for the Ekitis and their professors. The former first inflicted a dim witted Fayose, a student of Lamidi Adedibu, the PDP garrison commander of Ibadan politics whose idea of a governor is a public pugilist who can also swear to falsehood with the Holy Quoram without qualms. Obasanjo probably did that to compensate the man who doubled as the head of Ibadan thugs for his support for the 2003 ‘do or die' elections. And for the later, Ekiti experiment supervised by an ambitious clowning man who knows no fear, can be used as a template for 2015.This probably failed because of a fortuitous rift between god father and god son, the threat of the international community especially the US and Britain, and the resolve of Jega to be on the right side of history.
